Furniture

In a room full of people and with too few chairs the low, heavy, table creates a clearing. The table is used to share photocopies and other documents as well as to display drawings at more intimate occasions. It is sized to enable A0 drawings to be displayed. The table is made of three parts the top, the tray and the paper weights. The table top is the soft element that negotiates and brings together the other parts.

My first proposal was very chunky, perhaps brutalist furniture. A low steel and concrete table designed almost like a podium or flat stone in the room. The furniture had no legs and no separate tops.
