One of the challenges of this site was how to build in close proximity to the curving arches without completely destroying the spatial drama. To this end a device usually only seen in section was employed. By stepping the volumes in plan the movement of the arches could be heightened in a manner similar to how a stepping wall can make the topography of land more visible.
